The tubes are mark as to where the length should be. The guy's at Zero 5 did a great job marking all the tubes thanks guy's. Probably the easiest antenna to assemble I have ever had.
This one is the 43 foot vertical fold over.
Weight is 22.5 lbs. The shipping box measured 8x8x40 inches.
Here I am remove the box cover.
This is the Fold over Bracket pictured above and below.
Another view of the fold over bracket.
This is the plate that you will attach the 4:1 UNUN
Here is Unun box Coax from your QTH attaches with a PL259 the left side of the unit is a 1/4x20 stud the vertical antenna will attach here.
Here I am installing the Unun tools needed 3/8 inch box wrench, Phillips screw driver, and two 7/16 box wrench. (note) the four small flat washers go on front side of the Unun box not on the back side.
You can see all the pieces telescope in to each other with all the hose clamps to form the 43 feet antenna. The section are marked as to where to tighten the clamp.
Here is the whole assembly out of the box. Here is the
Which is also available from the Zero-5 web site. http://www.zerofive-antennas.com
All the section are mark as to where to tighten the clamps . You need a 8 MM wrench or a flat bladed screw driver for all but the top clamp which you will need a 1/4 inch wrench or the flat bladed screw driver. All tube section are 36 inches long.
The empty box.
Next you need a pipe you can get this at Home Depot or a Hardware store 2" OD and 1 1/2" ID 5 feet long.
Put 3 1/2 feet in the ground and leave 18 inches above to mount your vertical to.
When cementing the pipe in the ground the hole should be at least 10 inches in diameter and 3 1/2 foot deep.
I had another Vertical installed at
this location , so my
ground wire were already in I have 32 grounding wires.
Putting the fold over mount on the pipe and installing the vertical section and standing it up took about 10 minutes or less. First contact was Hungary then Canada. SWR at my location was less than 1.7:1 or less from 160 meters thru 10 meters.
